Perché cotone e lino sono ideali quando fa caldo

Why cotton and linen are ideal in hot weather

With the arrival of the warmer season comes a growing demand for fresh, lightweight and comfortable garments. Choosing the right fabric is essential for facing high temperatures without compromising on style. Among natural textile fibers, cotton and linen have always represented two of the best solutions for summer, thanks to their breathability, lightness and comfort.

More and more people are choosing garments made from natural materials, prioritizing quality and sustainability over synthetic fabrics.

Cotton: softness and natural breathability

Natural cotton is one of the most appreciated fibers in the world. Its structure allows good air circulation, helping to disperse heat and moisture.

The main advantages of cotton include:

  • high breathability;

  • softness against the skin;

  • lightness;

  • comfort even on the hottest days;

  • excellent resistance to washing.

For this reason, cotton is ideal for making polo shirts, T-shirts and lightweight sweaters intended for everyday use during spring and summer.

Linen: the fiber of summer

Alongside cotton, we find linen, a natural fiber that has been used for centuries precisely because of its exceptional qualities.

Linen quickly absorbs moisture, dries easily and provides a constant feeling of freshness even on the hottest days.

Its natural texture also gives garments an understated, timeless elegance, perfect for a refined summer style.

Natural textile fibers and sustainability

Cotton and linen share another important advantage: they belong to natural textile fibers, increasingly sought after by those who want to build a sustainable wardrobe.

When carefully selected and incorporated into transparent supply chains, these materials make it possible to create durable, comfortable garments designed to be worn season after season.

This is precisely the direction Lanaioli is following in developing its new collections.

Lanaioli's research into natural yarns

After building its project around Italian short-supply-chain merino wool, Lanaioli continues to invest in researching new natural materials to expand its offering.

Among the most interesting new developments is the testing of a summer knitwear line developed in collaboration with Maeko, a company from Biella specializing in enhancing high-quality yarns.

The project involves using carefully selected Sicilian cotton and launching new experiments also dedicated to linen and other innovative natural fibers.

The goal is to create a collection capable of combining comfort, elegance and sustainability, while maintaining the philosophy that has always characterized the brand: choosing high-quality raw materials and showcasing Made in Italy.

A new idea of summer knitwear

Today, knitwear is no longer synonymous only with winter. Thanks to the use of natural textile fibers such as cotton, linen and extra-fine merino wool, it is possible to create lightweight, breathable and versatile garments, perfect for the summer season as well.

Research into materials is one of the pillars of Lanaioli's vision: innovating without losing its connection with tradition, and offering fashion that respects the environment and accompanies people in every season.

Because choosing the right yarn also means choosing a different way to experience your wardrobe: more conscious, more sustainable and more durable.
